Jill, Privacy Counsel for Common Sense Media, is the former Director of the Privacy and Tech Project at the University of California College of Law, San Francisco, and a former Assistant General Counsel at Verizon.

JOLINA CUARESMA

Senior Counsel, Privacy and Technology Policy, Common Sense Media

Jolina is the Senior Counsel for Privacy and Technology Policy. “Jo" has been an attorney for roughly 20 years, with experience in private practice (one of her enforcement matters involved interviewing Steve Jobs), government regulatory agencies and academia. Her focus is at the intersection of emerging technologies, administrative law and consumer protection. As a recognized subject matter expert on consumer protection, she has testified before Congress on data privacy and technology and is a co-author of two treatises, “Consumer Credit and the Law” and “Consumer Protection and the Law.” Jo lives in Washington, D.C., with her teenage daughter.

DANNY WEISS

Chief Advocacy Officer, Common Sense Media

To his role overseeing all of Common Sense’s policy advocacy operations, Danny brings nearly three decades of service on Capitol Hill, most recently as Chief of Staff to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Before working for Pelosi, he served as Chief of Staff, Senior Committee Advisor and Communications Director for Congressman George Miller. Danny first joined Common Sense in 2015 and returned in 2020. Danny leads Common Sense's efforts to close the digital divide, protect children’s online data privacy, and hold tech companies accountable for online practices that harm kids.
